Murata commercializes low-power Wi-Fi®/Bluetooth® Combo Module Type 2GF

Murata Electronics has developed a low-power compact wireless module “Type 2GF” with built-in Infineon Technologies chipset CYW43022 WiFi®/Bluetooth®/Bluetooth® Low Energy combo chip.

As the expansion of applications in the IoT market continues, proliferation of IoT equipment with wireless communication functions have also expanded. Murata Electronics recognizes that for battery-powered devices, wireless communication functions are also required to have lower power consumption.

In response to this demand, Murata Electronics has applied proprietary wireless design technology and product processing technology to develop this product with Infineon Technologies CYW43022 built in to have low power consumption capabilities.

Murata Electronics Type 2GF is small and brings high performance supporting Wi-Fi® 802.11a/b/g/n/ac + Bluetooth® 5.4 BR/EDR/LE up to 78Mbps PHY data rate on Wi-fi® and 3Mbps PHY data rate on Bluetooth®. 2Mbps LE PHY is also supported. The WLAN section supports SDIO v2.0 SDR25 interface and the Bluetooth® section supports high-speed 4-wire UART interface and PCM for audio data.
